Russ:
Thank you for your positive feedback regarding Chris' Bantam A tryout. The entire lacrosse coaching group at Vimy (Fink, Paul and yourself) have been extremely positive about Chris' progress this year. I have heard a few times this year from different people that Chris' “off ball skills” are second to none. Considering that, before this year at Vimy, I don't think he had any off ball skills, I think you and your coaching staff deserve a pat on the back. I have also noticed that he has gotten stronger and tougher in front of the other team's goal. Now if only we can get him to shoot hard and develop that “scoring touch.” Good thing he has a few more years at Vimy because I don't think these things just happen overnight.
Keep up the positive work.

Sincerely,
Gary

Dear Rick;
Thanks very much for coaching the volleyball team this year. Alie learned a lot and she really enjoyed it. She showed so much improvement since grade 7 it was really something to see. I would often see you working with Alie one on one and that has been great for Alie's development as a player.
Alie is loving Vimy, and her marks have never been better. Kevin and I are very impressed with the teachers influence to motivate Alexis in grade 7 and grade 8.
Thanks again,
Wynne and Kev

Hello Kim,
Warm thanks for working with Mark on this special request. He was delighted when he found out he had you as a teacher. He has told me often of the profound stories you shared with the class- he was impacted by a number of them.
Thank you for going above and beyond the call. We truly appreciate all you have done, and all you are doing.
Your enthusiasm and positive attitude have inspired Mark.
Warm thanks,
Linda and Stu

Mr. Blackwell;
We are the parents of Tim, a grade 7 student, who is part of the Jr. volleyball team under the guidance of the coaching team of Neil Sande and Tom Yonge. This past weekend, the team played their first tournament of the year in St. Albert. Despite playing against far more experienced and older teams, the boys more than surprised a few teams, played very well, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. As parents watching the tournament, we believe that a major reason for their enjoyment and good play was the manner in which the coaches coached and interacted the boys. They constantly tried to help the boys improve their game skills, were enthusiastic, and, at all times, positive. As parents, we feel most fortunate to know that our son is playing on a team with such excellent role models and wanted to share our thoughts with you.
Yours truly,
Clive and Jill

Mr. Jones,
I just wanted to take this opportunity to let you know how incredibly happy we are with Mr. Steve Hamilton of the Hockey Program.  We have a son, Luke, in grade 7 in the Hockey Program.  This was his first year.  The first report card caused us concern and so we endeavored to do whatever we could to help him, "we" being Mr. Hamilton and ourselves.  My husband and I have been blown away with how Mr. Hamilton basically rolled up his sleeves and said "I'll do whatever I can to help Luke" when we approached him on Luke's struggles in school.  I don't think I have ever come across a teacher like Mr. Hamilton!!  He went above and beyond his "call of duty" to help Luke.  And it paid off in spades!  He was willing to meet whenever we needed to, he provided us with helpful information and he implemented whatever he thought was necessary in the classroom, to help Luke.  His positive attitude towards us and Luke was just the icing on the cake.  Here is a man/teacher who truly loves teaching and children and the kids know it!   I attribute a large part of Luke's success to Mr. Hamilton. You have a gem of a teacher in that man!  Hang on to him.  Have a wonderful summer and we look forward to having Luke in the Hockey Program next year.
Sincerely,
Lynette & Colin

Mr. Blackwell,
A special thanks to Mrs. Froese.  We are pleased with Jon's accomplishments in Grade 7.  He really enjoyed his first year at Vimy.  I know he is really looking forward to Grade 8.  I would like to thank his teacher's for their efforts with him last year, specifically  Mrs. Robinson, Mrs. Froese, and Mrs. French. Mr. Yonge is outstanding.  He did a lot to boost Jon's confidence in himself.
Thanks
Carlee

Dear Kurt,
The partnership that exists between the academic staff and coaching staff is what makes the soccer program at Vimy Ridge Academy and Donnan School a truly unique and successful experience for all the students. Our son has attended the Green & Gold Soccer Academy at Vimy Ridge for the past two years. Over the past two years he has developed and maintains a balance between academics, athletics and outside interests that are all well supported and encouraged by his coaches and teachers. Since being at Vimy Ridge our son's schedule includes the core subjects in the morning, soccer training three afternoons a week and two afternoons a week for options such as computers, outdoor education ( eg: skiing, scuba diving, wall climbing ). The soccer training focuses on all aspects of the sport including nutrition and the psychology of the sport. In the classroom the students are supported in their academic endeavors and the teachers work closely with the coaches to ensure the student is enjoying all aspects of their school/sports experience. Since our son started attending the sports program he has been able to keep up his academic endeavors– continued participating in the Green & Gold Academy, playing for his EIYSA club's indoor, futsal and outdoor teams as well as playing and training for the ASA Provincial program. He also has been a member of the school's volleyball and basketball teams for the past two seasons. This has been made possible for him due to the continued support he receives from all the staff. To date his experiences have always been positive and he is looking forward to coming back next year.   Marlene & DJ

To The Hockey Program,
" Attending the hockey program was an incredible building block for not only my hockey career, but learning many life skills that I found very valuable towards playing in the Western Hockey League and now for the University of Alberta Goldenbears" -
Dylan Stanley

Mr. Rai,
I just wanted to let you know that Matthew was one happy guy last night (I think he even woke up smiling). We are very proud of him for being the Rock Solid Performer. You guys sure made his day. Matthew has truly responded well to your program. His school marks have never been better. I have never heard any of my kids talk so positively about school. You guys are doing an awesome job. Thanks for all your efforts.

Mathew's Parents

Hello Don -
My son (grade 8), is enrolled in the Hockey Program and recently received his term Honours certificate. I was very impressed that virtually his entire class is functioning at a very high academic level. I just wanted to drop a short note that he off-handedly mentioned that "it is so much easier to learn this year" given the classroom environment. This is a credit to you and to the teaching staff, especially Rick Carrier. Despite some trepidation in initially enrolling our son at Vimy, we have had an excellent experience at the school,  he has had numerous unique opportunities to really shine - his hockey skills have improved dramatically, but more importantly, he has a real allegiance to the school and is really becoming a well rounded young man. Thanks very much and keep up the good work!

Sincerely,
